See the selection below:

Vedecký MA-CHE-R (tr. Scientific MA-CHE-R)

Applicant: Jozef Lettrich Grammar School, Martin

The project responds to the weak connection of knowledge from individual subjects but also with practice. It gives teachers and students a different perspective on teaching two demanding subjects. It creates space for mutual discussion on the given issue. The project’s content is the expansion of mathematical and chemical knowledge and competencies in practical problem-solving. Further, it is also an experiential form focused on the creation of a scientific project, its presentation and its use in practice, and a demonstration of work with a robotic kit when solving the topic of Energy. The project intends to organise competitions and workshops in three rounds – an online competition of pairs within Slovakia, lectures and experiential activities for the 20 most successful solvers, and project presentations.

SCIENTIFIC BOXES

Applicant: Pavel Országh Hviezdoslav Primary School, Trstená

The SCIENCE BOX competition will take place in two competition rounds by mail and online. The first 50 schools that decide to participate in the competition will receive a box of secret science gadgets. Using the acquired tools, they will make an innovative trial or experiment and present the results in the form of a short video and procedure in the Facebook group. Experiments will be evaluated by the evaluation committee based on previously known criteria according to the competition statute. Three winning schools will receive a microscope.

Pikomat and Pikofyz Seminars

Applicant: P – MAT, non-profit organisation

The project includes the summer part of the Pikomat and Pikofyz seminars. It is a three-round competition, where children solve four to five tasks in each round, describing the entire solution and not just the result. They will receive individual feedback from volunteers, sample solutions and evaluation. The most successful solvers will have the opportunity to participate in a one-week concentration during the summer holidays. Professional lectures using the Hejné method, an experiential program using elements of experiential pedagogy, and climate activities are prepared for them. At the same time, the children become part of a community of people interested in mathematics and physics, which motivates them to further development.
